Hi all, Not sure if everyone knows that the Mistletoe run in aid of the Dorset Air Ambulance is scheduled for the 16th December. Usual meet place is the seafront at Swanage at 10-30 to 11-00. Trying to beat last years total of £2200 so let any one who is interested know. Cheers DD...................................

| We've never made the Mistletoe Run before as it has always coincided with Jayne & I visiting relatives in the Midlands doing the Christmas thing. This year we will tell the Midlanders to 'P.... off' so we can join in. Anyone else fancy the Charity Run to include Soup & Festivities at the Sandford ?? I suppose as I am still a member of the OFFICIAL PDMC I might be welcomed to join their group. (But only if I do not intend to overtake any of the 1000 other bikes there might be on the route!) | Thanks for your kind thoughts, yes CCM, I'd have been gutted if the Aprilia had gone down. I'm fine now aches & pains have almost gone (alcohols working great). Have a merry Christmas. Well done to all those who went on the santa ride, my hats off to you......and if I were a brass monkey there'd be two things off to you brave souls. |

Hi Guys, Good to see so many at Swanage, we counted over 260 riders. Collected £1700 on the day, that's raffle money and donations on the seafront. Have a good Christmas, see you in the New Year, Cheers ............................DD.........

Thats great DD, we estimated around 300...Did you notince Ade, he had TWO badges, what a great bloke a'... Yep, as i said on the Bere regis Roundabout, we didn't intend going all the way and shot through Morden to Sandford. When we reached Sandford, we noticed loads of bikes already there so popped in for a quick one.Very cold on the hands, but at least dry huh...C U soonPS We followed a blade past the group (and the leader) so we didn't cause a problem by stopping on the corner when we wanted to turn right, I thought a sensible move to do... Unfortunately, the usual short sightedness PDMC (Please Dont Motivate-Me Club) member, didn't have the intelligence to understand the reasoning behind this. Usual bloke, usual bitching.....'Paaaaathetic'... Man im glad i'm out of that club!

Jayne & I enjoyed joining in and supporting the Air Ambulance, as we hadn't made it previously. It was mighty cold though. We overtook the main group when they stopped in the traffice queue at the temporary traffic lights at Holton Heath, to enable us to be at the front of the queue when the lights changed. We had no intention of stopping at the Sandford because of our lunch appointment in Swanage at 1.15pm. We saw your bikes (T & J's Gixas) at the Sandford as we passed. Sorry we didn't stop for a cuppa. I acknowledged a number of the PDMC group as I made my way towards the front of the ride. I had an enjoyable ride and was pleased to be part of it, even though now I read by a few, some slating comments on the 'Official' site. I'm not sure if they are aimed only at T & J, or if I might be included. It's sad really !!

Being a relative newcomer, unaffected by the various historic niggles, this is all a tad surprising. What it means to us 'middle of the roaders' who haven't fallen out with anyone (as far as I know) is that we went into 2007 with the PDMC, then entered 2008 with PDMC and Dorset Bikers. Now there is a choice of ride-out styles and twice as many potential ride-outs and twice as many nosh-ups! Bonus. The Mistletoe Run would have been better with heated grips but was enjoyable nonetheless and all in a good cause. If I had been given a pound everytime I was overtaken on the run (yes, I was very well behaved) I'd have been able to buy everyone a drink at the Sandford but, I'm sorry, it just didn't happen. Merry Christmas and a safe 2008 to all!!!!!!!!! John (and Connie)
